Uganda, South Sudan, Chad, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Central African Republic

LRA is considered as one of the rebel groups using most child soldiers. The active area of this armed force is in the central of Africa. The LRA is notorious for abducting, recruiting children and is reported for having abducted about 25,000 Ugandan children since the 1980s. This faction was operated by Joseph Kony, who is in charged of abducting 66,000 children into many rebel forces.

The Middle East

The so-called Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) is a religious terrorist organisation which is an extremist interpretation of Islam. In this decade, ISIS is infamous for its seriously inhumane actions such as releasing videos of shooting and beheading journalists and activists. This group has been using children for military purposes. Children are used as bombers, fighters and propagandists. The ISIS leaders brainwashed hundreds of thousands of children to do fatal tasks.

South Sudanese government forces are actively recruiting boys as young as 13. In the Sudan's civil war in 2010, both sides of the war used children as fighters
